Check My Herbicide Plan

Disclaimer

  • Read, understand, and follow the product label. This application is not a replacement for the product label.
  • Not all products are labeled in every state. Make sure products applied are labeled in your state for your use site.
  • Commercial products are named for informational purposes only. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) does not endorse these products and does not intend discrimination against other products which also may be suitable.
  • This application does not take future crop rotation into account. Similarly, preplant and preemergence options are not filtered based on crop trait. Please consult the product label for plantback restrictions based on your crop.
  • Explanation of herbicide resistance pattern reporting: The patterns of herbicide resistance reported have been gathered through reported cases and expert opinion. These cases have been reported to a state or county level, not to specific fields. This information is provided for your benefit to know what has been reported in your area but does not mean that you have these particular cases of resistance in your field.
  • Explanation of herbicide efficacy ratings:
    • Herbicide efficacy ratings are based on labeled single active ingredient rates, proper use of adjuvants, appropriate environmental conditions, and weed size or growth stage. Results may differ with variations in soil type, temperature, rainfall, soil moisture, soil organic matter, soil pH, spray coverage, weed size/growth stage, herbicide rate, if tank-mixed with other products, weed infestation density, or by tillage practices.
    • Soil-applied (preemergence and layby) herbicide efficacy ratings are based on labeled single active ingredient rates for the soil type and timely rainfall or irrigation to incorporate the herbicides. Ratings are based on control 3 to 4 weeks after application. Length of effective control (residual control) beyond 4 weeks after application often declines.
    • Herbicide rate is considered to be effective if the minimum rate specified on the product label is at least 75% of the minimum of the rate of the single ai product. For example, the flumioxazin rate in Envive (flumioxazin + thifensulfuron + chlorimuron) must be at least 75% of the minimum rate on Valor SX (flumioxazin) to be considered effective.
    • Weed control efficacy ratings may not take antagonism or synergism into account.
    • Postemergence and burndown herbicide efficacy ratings are based on the control of emerged plants while soil-applied (preemergence and layby) ratings are based on the assumption that there are no emerged weeds present at the time of application and activation. Soil-applied (preemergence and layby) herbicides included in postemergence applications are a recommended management practice to combat certain weeds although it is not recognized in that way in this app.
  • Some products used in combination with herbicides could increase the chance of crop injury. Always consult product labels, especially when tank-mixing products.
  • Some products for layby applications in cotton must be directed not broadcasted. Read, understand, and follow the product label for all products applied.
  • This tool is meant to be used for educational purposes and not to be the sole input for management decisions. Please refer to your local extension service for information and advice on herbicide resistant weeds in your area and how to manage these weeds
